I was frustrated to find hardly any information on the bandgaps of elemental antimony allotropes. Most search results include articles in regards to antimonide compounds, many of which find use in the semiconductor industry. Elemental antimony, however, in its most familiar metallic allotrope – does not have a bandgap?
Black antimony and explosive antimony seem to be nonmetallic. Are they insulators or semiconductors? Does anybody here know what their bandgaps are?
Thanks and all response is very much appreciated,
