Woman cited after crash with Chicago police vehicle, officials say!
CHICAGO – A woman was cited and at least two people were hospitalized after a crash involving a Chicago police vehicle on Wednesday night, authorities said.
What we know:
Chicago police say the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Racine Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood.
According to police, a 32-year-old woman was driving an SUV westbound on 59th Street. She entered a turn lane but continued straight through the intersection and struck the passenger side of a CPD squad car heading northbound on Racine. The police vehicle had its emergency lights activated.
At least one officer was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in fair condition with injuries to his left shoulder and hand.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.
Police cited the woman for driving without a license, without insurance, and for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
